Timathy D. Tawoda, President & CEO – Mr. Tawoda has over 25 years of power industry sales and design experience involving both power quality equipment and distributed generation project development. From 1981 through 1995 Tim managed and directed various sales engineering operations on behalf of Westinghouse, Teledyne (NYSE: TDY), and Protech. Tim founded Preon in 1996. In 2000, Mr. Tawoda won the Charles Steinmetz Technical Merit Award from the Chicago Consulting Electrical Engineers and has applied for several patents for the unique control of micro turbines. Mr Tawoda is the company visionary/architect and takes hands-on approach to facilitating major initiatives. Tim earned a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University.
Paul G. Karz, General Manager – Mr. Karz has 25 years of experience in the power generation and equipment industry including General Electric, Westinghouse, Cutler Hammer, and Electric City. Paul was a leading salesman specializing in the electrical distribution in his career with these firms. Mr Karz has expanded his industry knowledge with Preon and also promotes UPS and Genset sales to his legacy clients. Mr Karz is the backbone of Preon’s day-to-day commodity sales of switchgear to local electrical contractors and provides project management for Preon’s work with the new Chicago Police Stations. Paul earned a Bachelor of Science Marketing from DePaul University.
Gregg Bohenberger, VP Service – Mr Bohenberger has over 17 years of hands on technical experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing electrical distribution equipment. This includes UPS and battery systems, DC Plants used for telecom, Static Transfer Switches (STS), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Surge Protection Devices, generators, and associated controls and monitoring equipment as well as medium and high voltage maintenance and troubleshooting experience. Gregg’s career included the Regional Manager for On Power Services, a leading national UPS service provider, Technical Consultant for Excel Energy of Denver, Power Quality Engineer for Excelon of Chicago and District Service Manager for Teledyne INET. Gregg has established Preon’s service business processes and is responsible for the management of the service business unit and developing new key accounts. Mr Bohenberger earned an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering, ITT Technical College, Aurora, CO.
A. Justin Carroll, VP Wyoming Operations, Power Generation Engineer – Mr. Carroll has 10 years of hands-on and technical experience in the Wyoming energy industry during his careers with Aqua Terra Consultants, Baccari and Associates, Unocal and Pearl Process Systems. Justin has design/built monitoring equipment for coal bed methane wells, designed and constructed projects for Kenai Alaska Ammonia Nitrate Facility and researched and developed models for the use of micro turbines as the primary source of generation in micro grid installations for coal bed methane applications in Wyoming. Mr. Carroll is responsible for the promotion and service of micro turbine-based power generation in the Wyoming gas industry and commissioning of on-site Preon power generation projects across the US. Justin earned a Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering from the University of Wyoming with focus on power generation and transmission. Mr Carroll’s education also includes 3 years of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alaska and graduate level design and circuit analysis.
